DEUTSCHE VERSION

Stories by Bob Seaworm

For those of you who don't know him yet, let me tell you just who this Bob Seaworm is.
He comes from Cuxhaven, that's a little town on the North Sea. His name is actually
Frederic de Woodapple, but he thinks Bob Seaworm sounds nicer.

He is a handsome woodworm, about as big as a matchstick and tanned very brown from all the time he spends in the sun.
His teeth are white as snow, his lips are red as blood, and the hair on the tip of his tail is black as ebony.
Bob Seaworm

One day a sailboat docked in Cuxhaven and he crawled aboard. Now he lives in a lifeboat and lets the seabreeze waft about his little nose.
When the boat anchors at the Spanish port of Santander in the Gulf of Biscaya, he creeps into the outrigger and lets the captain row them both to shore.

A big beautiful tree once grew right in the middle of the harbor,  but it was felled many years ago in a terrible storm. The tree's stump remains and is a favorite meeting place for all seaworms
...uh, I mean, for woodworms who have gone to sea.

At such get-togethers a few cups of woodjuice are emptied, and then tales begin about the newest stories from around the world. For example :

The Love Life of South American Jellyfish
and Their Influence on the Gulfstream at Christmas Time
